I’m shaving my head for Mia. ?️?
But this is about so much more than shaving my head.
This is about faith, love, purpose, and a promise I carry in my heart every single day.
Losing Mia changed my life forever. There are still days when I ask God why, but through my grief, He continues to remind me that even the deepest pain can be used for a greater purpose. I may not understand His plan, but I trust Him with my story—and I trust Him with Mia’s.
God gave me a purpose through my daughter: to be a voice for children fighting cancer and for the families walking beside them.
September may be Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, but for me, childhood cancer awareness doesn’t begin on September 1st and end on September 30th. I will GO GOLD 365 days a year. ?️
I will say Mia’s name.
I will tell her story.
I will advocate for these children.
I will pray for their families.
I will raise awareness and help however God allows me to.
Shaving my head is simply another way of saying, “I’m still here, Mia. I’m still fighting for them.”
I’m doing this in Mia’s honor while raising funds for El Paso Children’s Hospital, because every child fighting cancer deserves to know that their community sees them, loves them, prays for them, and stands beside them.
My grief will always be a part of me because my love for Mia will always be a part of me. But I refuse to let grief be the end of our story. I want God to use my love for Mia to bring hope, awareness, kindness, and purpose into the lives of other children.
This is my calling. This is my purpose. And as long as God gives me the strength to keep going, I will keep going GOLD for Mia and every child fighting cancer—not just in September, but all year long. ??️
“Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.” — Esther 4:14
For Mia. For the children. For His glory. Always. ???
