I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Almost 17 years ago, we tragically lost our friend, 10-month old Macie McCloud, to a form of blood cancer known as Leukemia. In her memory, since I was 8 years old, I have shaved my head bald in order to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This will be my 13th year participating as a Shavee.

Although there has been a significant amount of progress made in childhood cancer research, there is still a long, tough road ahead. With over 300,000 children diagnosed with cancer around the world every year, cancer serves as the leading disease related cause of death among children ages 0-19.

Until there’s a cure,

Max Fritsch
