I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Rainbow 2 nurses

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Rainbow 2 nurses

In my 9 years as a pediatric oncology nurse, I've had the privilege of taking care of hundreds of children who directly benefit from the work done by the St Baldricks Foundation.  These kids spend months, sometimes years, in the hospital undergoing treatment with medications that are too toxic and cause life- long side effects.  Research is needed to find newer drugs and treatments, but pediatric cancer is extremely underfunded!  I am taking a stand against childhood cancer by shaving my head; not only to raise money, but to raise awareness and in solidarity with all of the kids who have lost their hair to chemo or radiation.

The children and families I have cared for have made me a better nurse and a better person.  I have laughed with them and cried with them, celebrated with them and mourned with them.  Help me work towards a day when no family has to mourn the loss of their child to cancer.  Thank you for your donation!!

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
