I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Jun 20, 2015 • 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Once again I am shaving my head to raise funds for childhood cancer research! I shave to show my support for every kid who endures cancer and to raise funds for research -- in honor of my own daughter Annika and all survivors, in memory of every child who has died as a result of cancer & it's treatment, and in defense of the children not yet diagnosed. This summer I will be shaving my head for the 3rd time with the 46 Mommas Shave for the Brave - a team comprised of women who all have a child who has or has had cancer. With diverse backgrounds & experiences, we come together from across the country because we share this tragic bond, to stand in solidarity with all families facing childhood cancer and to raise funds for research.  Kids' cancers are different from adult cancers and childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded — only 4 percent of government funding for cancer research goes to study childhood cancer. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation has worked since its founding to fill that funding gap. This makes it an easy decision to support St.Baldrick's to raise money for cures. Every 3 minutes worldwide another mother is told their child has cancer. Can you help me reach my fundraising goal? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
