I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! I'm keeping my promise to my daughter, Ali, to keep fighting for children with cancer and their families. Ali was only 14 when she was killed by relapsed leukemia (ALL). She was originally diagnosed in March 2007 and endured collapsed vertebrae and strokes. The leukemia returned in May 2010. Ali had a bone marrow transplant in September 2010, relapsed in December 2010, and died on January 24, 2011. Ali didn't want any more children to suffer or die from cancer like she did, so we will keep fighting until there is a cure!

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. I'm shaving my head to raise funds for this research, but I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Thank you!

And remember to "Smile wide every day!" --Ali Borgen, forever 14
