I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Aaron’

I chose to work with St Baldrick's after attending a head shaving event in 2018 which is run locally each year by a friend whose son is a cancer survivor. The live event is very powerful and inspired me to get involved. I decided to shave my head in 2019, because I wanted to do more than just donate money to this organization. Participating in their head shaving event allowed me to both raise awareness about the fight against childhood cancers and solicit donations from others. In 2020, my son Aaron joined me in raising money for this great cause when he also participated in the event at the age of 7, and we've continued to support the event each year. St. Baldrick's mission is to raise money used for researching treatments specifically for cancers that affect children. They have awarded hundreds of millions of dollars in grants over the past 20 plus years to fund this research for more effective treatments. According to the American Cancer Society, the survival rate for children diagnosed with cancer has risen from 58% in the 1970s to 85% in recent years. St. Baldrick's advocacy and research funding makes a huge impact in the fight against childhood cancer. Aaron and I are both looking forward to participating again in 2024 and raising tons of money for this great cause. Please donate whatever you can afford to help in the fight against this horrible disease. Every dollar helps! And if you're local to Pompano Beach, please join us on March 9th for a truly inspirational event.
