As a young man I used to have a legitimate fear of going bald prematurely. My dad still finds it funny to tease me about it. It might even be the reason I have not cut my hair in 2 years. But, after losing a love one to cancer this past year and seeing/hearing about the suffering these cancer patients go through daily, I realized my fear was silly and not a fear at all. Nothing even comparable to what these cancer patients and their families have to deal with.
I think about how far we have come with technology in our world. We have found ways to put every device we thought we needed into one and then re engineered to be better again and again. But, we haven't cured cancer yet. This partly due to the fact that cancer research is seriously underfunded.
I decided that I want to help any way I can. So, I am shaving off my hair in hopes that you will join me in raising money for cancer research. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. I ask you to reconsider that trip to get that cup of coffee, even pack your lunch for a couple days instead of eating out, or save your change and not go to the vending machine. Open up your hearts, as well as, your wallets and purses. Make a contribution today. Let's do some good and save some lives! Thank you.
