I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Vinnie Mouse

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Vinnie Mouse

When someone makes reference to the "unthinkable", it is generally understood what they are referring to. For the last 6 years I have spent every day thinking about when I had to say goodbye to my sweet son Vinnie. Watching him go through 4 months of the most aggressive chemo therapy to treat and even more aggressive brain tumor has not left me with a high confidence in the way cancer treatment is handled today.

More children are lost to cancer in the US than any other disease, in fact, most other diseases combined. Despite all of this, only 4% of federal cancer funding goes to childhood cancer. The children of our future deserve better. The average number of years adults lose to cancer is 15, yet the average number of years children lose to cancer is 71.  Now imagine some of your greatest memories! Sports games, holidays, family events, weddings or maybe the day you became a parent.  All of that was taken from him, and from us.

My sweet Vinnie deserved better!

St. Baldrick is a foundation dedicated to funding childhood cancer research, and providing the best chance for the future of this horiffic diagnosis. Please consider donating in my son's honor.
