I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Ella’s Miracle Team

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Ella’s Miracle Team

On February 4th, 2020 (world cancer day), our lives changed forever. Ella had been complaining of headaches sporadically for two weeks before we we met with her pediatrician, who then referred us to neurology. The appointment with UH was scheduled for 2/24, but when the headaches started increasing in frequency, Ella’s mom contacted Akron Children’s and got her in the following Tuesday at 9am. The neurologist ordered a stat CT and when that came back it showed a golf ball size mass on her brain stem. A brain tumor. “Jesus” was the first word out of my mouth. I needed Jesus there in that room at that moment. From there we were escorted to PICU where teams started coordinating for an MRI. The time spent in the room waiting on the MRI was a time of worship and prayer. At about 7pm they wheeled Ella back into the room and explained that Ella had a “rare”, inoperable, incurable, terminal brain tumor. The worst news. They told us our baby is going to die from this but after much prayer, biblical guidance from friends, pastors, and strangers, and time spent reading God’s word we realized that they don’t get to decide that. Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “with man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God” Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.

Jimmy is shaving his head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids.

Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
