I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Musketeers

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Musketeers

When I was a kid, my Grandma introduced me to a book called _What Was Good About Today_.  Written by Carol Kruckeberg, it chronicled the journey of her daughter, Sara, who was diagnosed with leukemia at 8, and lost her battle at 9.  Being only 9 myself, the book had a profound impact on my view of life.  I have been fortunate that though I have had many struggles in my life - Cerebral Palsy among them - cancer has not been one of them. Kruckeberg's book gave me a framework for finding the good, seeking the positive, and staying optimistic even in the face of incredible hardship.  These lessons have served me all my life, and never more so than when I lost my Grandma two years ago to endometrial cancer.

I watched her dance after chemo, smile even as her sister's helped her to shave her hair once she started to lose it, and of course, I watched her find something good about every day.

It is my hope that in supporting this fundraiser, there is a child somewhere who will be positively impacted, and have something good to share about their day.  Please join me in making that possibility happen.
