I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. In fact, second to the federal government, St Baldrick’s is the largest funding source dedicated to childhood cancer research, funding more than $253 million to date worldwide!
I am again honoring Benjamin, who had been battling Neuroblastoma since before he was officially diagnosed at 2-1/2. After relapse #6 he succumbed this past year, at 17 years old, to this unrelenting demon.
I invite you to learn about Ben at his mother’s blog:

Now, we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of other infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Here's a few numbers to ponder:
• Every 2 MINUTES a child is diagnosed with cancer.
• In the U.S., 1 IN 5 KIDS diagnosed with cancer will not survive.
• More than 99% of survivors will have chronic health problems and 96%
will have severe or life-threatening conditions.
• $250 supports 5 hours of research in the lab leading to lifesaving discoveries.
• $500 funds 20 hours of research to improve patient and survivor quality
of life.
• $1000 helps support one child on a clinical trial, which is often their best
hope for a cure.
