Hey Folks!
I am shaving my head. Why you ask?
Because 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won't survive. For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
My family has been affected my cancer multiple times. We have won, and we have lost, but each time we faced it together. Never, however, has the loved one with cancer been a child. I cannot imagine the incredible pain and fear that comes with watching your child suffer, and I cannot even begin to imagine the confusion and anxiety of a child being told they have what can turn out to be a terminal sickness.
So I am shaving my head to raise awareness, and hopefully raise funds to support these kids and their families in their pursuit of care and a cure. Every penny counts. Yours could be the difference for a family wishing only for the relief that comes with ringing the bell.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
Together, let's give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
