I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Brave Hearts

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Brave Hearts

 Greetings!

I'm raising money for childhood cancer research in honor of some of my biggest heroes! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

This will be my third year participating with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, and this year to spice things up I have created a challenge:

I will only shave my head if I reach my goal: $5,040 by 1:30 pm on May 19th

If I reach my goal, I will Brave the Shave for the 3rd year and cut all of the hair that I have grown to love.

WHY??

I shave for Brooks, Tyler, Halle, Blake, Grace, Matt, Bella, and so many more.

I shave because every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer, and 1 out of every 5 who are will not survive.

I shave because only 4% of the National Budget that is reserved for cancer research is allocated for pediatric cancers even though they are the #1 disease killer of children.

I shave because of the children who do survive, 2/3 will have long-term effects from their treatments.

I shave because the U.S. alone spends more on Starbucks in 3 days than the government spends on childhood cancer research all year.

I shave because I'm no longer able to give my buddy Brooks fist bumps anymore, or hear his little giggle.

I shave because my friend Tyler deserves a life free of crutches and hospital visits.

I shave because girls like my friend Halle loose their beloved hair to the harsh treatments they must undergo to stay alive.

I shave because I believe that one day people like my cousin Blake's lives won't be cut short.

I shave because I want to give people like my old teammate Grace the chance to do what they love again.

I shave because seeing Matt return to a normal life was inspiring.

I shave because people like Bella show me that even though things get tough there is always more we can do.

I shave for all of the kids who have ever gone through, are currently going through, or will one day go through a battle with cancer.

I shave so that no kid facing cancer feels alone.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

Help me shave my head so we can help make sure that less kids loose their hair and lives to cancer!
