Why am I having my head shaved? To stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, who typically lose their hair during treatment. More importantly, I'm doing it to raise funds for childhood cancer research! Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. On November 13th, 2008 my sweet 5 and a half year old daughter, Jadyn, was diagnosed with Brain Cancer at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was diagnosed with recurrent Brain Cancer on March 16, 2010 and August 13th, 2011. She has endured 3 brain surgeries totally over 27 hours, 93 rounds of radiation, over 3 months of chemo, countless weeks in the hospital and more pokes and prodding than anyone should have in a long lifetime. The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations around the world to fund childhood cancer research. We must all do everything we can to give kids a better chance for a cure.
