Why am I shaving my head again, and why should you care?
I’m shaving my head because my big brother, Camden, had leukemia.
Camden fought cancer for six years. He endured more treatments, hospital stays, and procedures than any child ever should. We hoped and believed that each treatment would be the one that finally gave him a lasting cure. But in December 2022, my brother lost his battle with leukemia.
I was too young to understand everything that was happening when my brother was sick. But I understood that he was fighting something very serious, and I understood how much our family sacrificed to get him better.
Now, I want to help make sure other kids and their families have a different story.
That’s why I’m again joining St. Baldrick’s to shave my head and raise money for childhood cancer research. Because the best way I can honor Camden is to help fund the research that could give kids with cancer something he never got: a long-term cure.
One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive. And my family continues to fight on behalf of the 5th. We need better treatments. We need safer treatments. And most importantly, we need cures that last.
Every dollar raised helps fund researchers working to make that possible—for kids like my brother, and for the families who are facing a diagnosis today.
I can’t change what happened to Camden. But I can help change what happens to the next kid. So yes, I'm shaving my head again to raise money for pediatric cancer research. And I hope you'll care enough to help me make it count.
Thank you for helping me turn my brother’s story into hope for other kids and families facing cancer.
