I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

20 Years!

It's hard to believe that 20 years have gone by but not hard to imagine shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s. I was "blessed" early on in my participation to meet a young girl at an event who was in treatment for pediatric cancer. I was asked to take before and after photos with her which I did. For the before photo she was very shy and didn't want to stand next to me for the photo. However, when she saw me later that evening with my head shaved she sat on my lap without fuss for the after photo. We had made a connection.

My wife kept in touch with her mother via social media. We received a photo from her mother a year later. She was in remission and 20 pounds heavier with a full head of hair. That was all I needed to understand the true impact that St. Baldrick's is having at the individual level.

St, Baldrick's not only raises funds for pediatric cancer research, it also advocates for additional federal funding since typical federal funding only allocates less that 5% for pediatric cancer research. While research is hope for kids with cancer, donations to find new treatments and eventually cures have been down since 2020.

Your gift will give kids hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charitable funder of childhood cancer research grants.

Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. I don’t want to let these kids down. Can you help? Thank you!
