Here Ye Here Ye –

Knight Anthony and Squire August request your attention on this important decree to the people…

It’s head shaving time again!!

Last year I became a Knight of the Bald Table by reaching a goal of 7 years of shaving my head for kids’ cancer research. My son August became a Squire for shaving his head for 3 years (incredible thought since he is only 7 years old).

This year we embark on year 8 and year 4 and have joined forces with the Carol Stream Fire Department for the 3rd time. They are a great group of guys in our community and proud to work alongside with them.

Again I will state that the end answer I always come up with is that CANCER SUCKS!!!

Everyone has their cancer story – the sad truth is that everyone has their cancer stories these days and it seems to continue to grow every day.

It’s horrible when you hear the news of cancer – especially for family or a close friend. There is that heart-dropping bottomless helpless feeling. What can I do? How can I help? It even extends into our normal daily lives when we hear so many varying reports on what causes cancer – foods we eat, how they prep the food, the water we drink, etc…

I will let you know that there are organizations trying to help. There are so many “causes” in this world that need your support. St. Baldrick’s is one of them – they raise money for kids’ cancer research which is different from adult cancer studies and is not funded by big organizations. For more info, visit www.stbaldricks.org

The worst part of shaving my head is asking for donations.

I am so proud of my son and daughter as well as various team members from all walks of life that have joined me in my endeavors to raise money. My niece Emma even donated her hair earlier this year. I will tell you that since 2009 when I started doing this and combined with my teammates – all of you have donated (if my calculations are right) $21,514 – just to me and my teammates – that’s incredible!!!! It’s truly amazing. There are so many worthy causes to donate your money to all I can do is ask for your continued generosity towards this organization.

Katie and I now have a donation budget for all the various things people do for great causes. If you are someone that is involved in raising money for a cause – thank you for your efforts. All I can say is give what and if you can.

If you want to join our team let me know. If you know of a child with cancer that we can “honor” please let me know. If you can only give $1 – that’s what you should give. If you can give more then give more. If it’s too difficult to give this year, please keep us in your thoughts and say a prayer if you are so inclined.

And by all means come out to the event and watch live on March 13, 2016 at QBar in Glendale Heights starting around 11:30am.

Keep praying for a cure. Keep praying for those suffering and their families.

Love and Peace,

Anthony (Tony) Bordignon
