Hello friends and family (and a significant other)! Remember when I had a nice, long pony tail that would stay wet for the better part of the day because I didn't want to use a blow drier? No? Well, I'll put an (embarrassing) picture up ASAP on this site for you to relive those days.
And relive you should -- because soon I'll be bald! Well, soon, as in March. My class at Tulane SOM is doing the St. Baldrick's day fundraiser, where we shave our heads in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, and raise critical funds for childhood cancer research.
And did you know, in the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease? (I didn't until I read on this site!)
So the deal is, you donate money, I shave my head. Simple as that! And to sweeten the deal, I made a stupid bet with Beth, so I have to not cut my hair until shaving day, which is still 4 months away. So you all will WANT to pay me (er, donate money to research) to cut THAT off.
So, please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. I'll think you're awesome!
