Top 10 reasons I am shaving my head for childhood cancer research:
(Not in any particular order)
#10 I was encouraged to do it last year, but needed some time to think about it!
#9 I wanted to see if I could rock the “Jamie Lee Curtis look” before returning to my authentic hair color (Black Cherry), besides my hair is always kept short and grows really fast!
#8 I can donate the money I save on haircuts over the next few months!
#7 My sister really wants to do it but she’s too chicken, so I’m letting her shave my head instead!
#6 I was recently inspired by a story about a teacher and a student named Courtney!
#5 My life has been touched by the tragedy of cancer as I have lost some special people over the past several years!
#4 I work at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and see the kids with cancer and their families. I have recently begun asking the families and the kids about their journey. I am extremely humbled by the strength and challenges they face. I was especially touched by a mother who shaved her head when her own daughter was undergoing chemotherapy!
#3 I am inspired by the work at Seeds of Happiness (SOH) and am honored to join them this year in their fundraising efforts ~ all because of a wonderful boy named Dawson!
#2 I want to raise donations for childhood cancer research. There are way too many cancers out there that need cures!
#1 CANCER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least three years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.
