The family encourages people to wear their “Tripp T-shirts” when coming to visitation and/or the funeral service. Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley is assisting the family with arrangements.

Tripp David Postmus was born on July 20, 2007 to Chad and Maria Postmus in Rock Valley, IA. Tripp was an easy-going child, full of smiles, adventures and yelling, “GOGOGO”. From the age of 18 months to the rest of his life, he loved his friends fiercely. In early elementary, Tripp was an excellent student and loved playing soccer.

At age 9, in his third-grade year, he started having headaches which was eventually discovered to be Medulloblastoma, a brain cancer. Tripp was “strong and courageous” in his battle with his ever-present Tripper smile and love for the people around him. After attempting a cure with all the treatment options available for Pediatric Cancer for 5 years, Tripp was excited to state, “I get to go see God” when told he had no more options.

Tripp’s love for his Jesus was contagious and evident to everyone around him. The one thing he wants everyone to remember about him is “How Great God is and to Never Give Up”. Tripp also had a love of Corvettes but mostly a love for the people who raced them, a love for his nurses and doctors, and a love for his church, school, and family. Tripp’s story is far from over as his legacy and love for Jesus will continue to shine through those that knew him. #BelikeTripp because he loved like Jesus.

Tripp is survived by his parents, Chad and Maria, his brother Caleb, his Special dog Copper, his paternal grandmother, Susan Postmus, his maternal Grandparents, Vernon and Gloria Brouwer, and many Uncles and Aunts and Cousins. He is proceeded in death by his Papa, David Postmus. In lieu of too many flowers and gifts, donations may be given to the Tripp Postmus Memorial Fund at Premier Bank to bless other families fighting Childhood Cancer or to St Baldricks (https://www.stbaldricks.org/donate) as their funding contributed to many of the trials Tripp was involved in. They are making a difference in the Pediatric Cancer world and Tripp’s desire was to help those coming behind him.

Thank you for your generous donation

To date you have helped raise $1,939 to fund childhood cancer research.
