My Story

August 15 2018 Soleil came into my room limping.  She had a huge knot on her inner knee and thought she bumped it on something.  We were on our way out of town, vacation actually, and call it, "mother's intuition", I call it God, I knew something wasn't right.  I took her to our local ER and after a few hours they sent her straight to a children's hospital.  Days later her diagnosis became clear: AML Leukemia FLT3.  The knot on her knee is known as "Sweets Syndrome", nothing sweet about it I can promise you that! But her cancer was very intense and so chemo began.  The decision was made in order to give Soleil the best fighting chance she would need a bone marrow transplant.  December 03, 2018 Soleil received her second chance at life.  Soleil spent  almost 7 months at Duke University Children's Hospital in-patient but today she is happy and HEALTHY!  Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
