My Story

Sarah was originally diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in August of 2009. The tumor was localized in her right femur. She began chemo treatments that month and continued chemo until April 2010. Sarah's tumor removal surgery in December 2009 left her on crutches for 26 months because her bones were fusing with the cadaver. After a bone grafting surgery in July 2011, fusion finally began and Sarah walked again for the first time on February 7, 2012! Unfortunately, Sarah's cancer came back in January 2012, with a metastatic tumor in her lung. This time around, treatment included more chemo, another tumor removal surgery resulting in the removal of one lobe of her lung, high dose chemo with stem cell transplant, and whole lung radiation. She completed this second time through cancer in January 2013. Sarah was amazing through it all. She loved the Lord and was so very courageous. She liked to spend time with friends, rock climb, listen to music, and more. She passed away in October 2016.
