My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Hayden was diagnosed on December 16th with acute b-cell lyphoblastic leukemia. He started looking really really pale so we took him to med check because we thought he had the flu. When we arrived, they said his heart rate was up and to get him to Payton Manning Hospital. As soon as we arrived, they found out he was dangerously anemic and said if we would have waited one more day he probably wouldn't have made it. With a couple of hours, the doctor came in and said they were going to admit him. They were pretty sure he had leukemia and that we would meet with an oncologist in the morning. About 9 o'clock in the morning they came and told us yes he had leukemia and that it was b-cell lyphoblastic leukemia. He has been so strong going through this. He hasn't complained or cried or asked why him.
