My Story

Xander’s daycare provider first noticed a glow in his right eye when he was 6 months old. After taking him to a few local doctor’s, a tumor was found in the right eye and we were immediately referred to a specialist in Memphis. After several tests, an ultrasound, and an MRI, Xander was diagnosed with unilateral retinoblastoma, grade C at 7 months old. He began chemotherapy and laser treatments the following week. Xander completed 10 months of treatment, and has since been in maintenance. Xander is currently returning to St. Jude every 12 weeks for scans and a routine EUA. His tumor is stable at the moment. He has lost all vision in that eye, but we are thankful it was able to be saved. Thank you for supporting Xander and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
