My Story

Hunter was diagnosed with AML on December 28, 2017, just 6 short days after his 15th birthday. He was one of the strongest kids and fought his battle so hard. Hunter was just the most humble, caring, loving, selfless, thoughtful teenager. He was so wise beyond his years and made friends everywhere he went. He could light up an entire room in a matter of minutes.  Hunter went into remission on June 28, 2018 and we had such an amazing 5 weeks at home that summer. Unfortunately, he relapsed on August 14, 2018 and fought harder than the first 6 months. He lived for only 57 days after he relapsed. He passed away on a beautiful, sunny Wednesday afternoon at 3:00pm. He left such a big mark on so many people for such a short amount of time he was here with us. He is missed so much every day! We had the most amazing team at Golisano Children’s Hospital where Hunter and I made our home for 10 months. They became our family and we are ever so grateful for everything they did for us and how much they loved us and never made us feel lonely. We will always have a special place in our hearts for his team!
