My Story

Andrew is a happy go lucky 10 year old boy who loves video games and soccer. Andrew starting feeling stomach pain and was throwing up, sometimes multiple times a day. His PCP checked him out and said he was fine and it was probably just a stomach bug; she referred him a Peds GI Dr. That appointment was scheduled for May 9th. On February 8th he was taken to Tucson Medical Center after he did not get better. The ER Dr did a brain scan and they found a walnut sized brain tumor next to his brain stem. Andrew had surgery the next morning, February 9th, at Banner Diamond Childrens Center. After a six hour surgery they removed the tumor, even the piece that was on the brain stem. On February 14th, Andrew was officially diagnosed with Medulloblastoma. He has been such a warrior and has a long journey ahead with his treatment plan. He will soon begin radiation and chemotherapy. Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
