My Story

When Bailey was a kindergartner he was diagnosed with a brain tumor behind his eye. The next day he underwent a 4 hour brain surgery to try to remove the tumor and save the vision in his eye. Unfortunately, the tumor was too complicated to remove and he lost the vision in his eye shortly after surgery. The doctors said there was a 30% chance the tumor would stop growing with a year of chemotherapy treatments. After he healed from surgery, Bailey went to Children’s Blood and Cancer Center at Dell Children’s Hospital for weekly chemotherapy treatments. In June of 2015 he finished his treatments. In 2019 Bailey's received the news that his tumor had begun to grow again. Fortunately, thanks to medical research, there is a new more targeted chemotherapy treatment for Bailey's tumor. He has now completed his 2 year course of targeted chemotherapy. At the moment Bailey's tumor is stable. He loves spending time with his little brother, family and friends. He enjoys video games and tennis even though he only has vision in one eye. He is also an A student and is teaching himself to play piano.

Bailey is doing great but he isn’t done fighting cancer! He now shaves his head for St. Baldrick’s Foundation every year to raise money for childhood cancer research. To date he raised over $16,500! This will be the 7th year he will be shaving his head for St. Baldrick's! Bailey is passionate about helping save children’s lives!
