My Story

Austin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia just 2 days before Halloween in 2016. Hearing the words, "your child has cancer", still rings in our ears to this day. Its one of the hardest most life changing things anyone could ever be told. Our hearts broke upon hearing the news but we instantly knew this was a fight we are going to win. The doctors said his blood and platelets were so low that he should not have been able to walk or talk yet he was playing and joking with the medical team, earning him the nickname "Awesome Austin". He is undergoing 3.5 years of treatment. He is currently cancer free, but will continue doing treatments for 2 more years and has handled the treatments better than anyone could have hoped! He is so strong, loving, brave, and funny. He is slowly getting back to normal 6 year old activities like baseball, nerf wars, playing with friends and he could ride his mountain bike from sun up to sun down if we let him!
