My Story

Aidan is a very energetic 3 year old boy who has the world at his feet. September 15th we brought Aidan to the hospital thinking he was just dehydrated because he was not wanting to eat or drink for almost a week. He was previously sick and we thought maybe he was just dehydrated. That night changed everything forever. Aidan also had a limp just after getting sick and we were told it was toxic synovitis and that it would go away, which is did. Upon telling the back story to the ER department x-rays showed something a little different. They were not sure what it is so the admitted us. Three days later and many tests a parents worst nightmere came to life. The words “your child has cancer” is something we never thought we would ever hear. We were hopeful that we would get some better news about the staging or what it was but that didn’t happen. On September 18th aidan was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma high-risk. He has a tumor on his adrenal glands, the dura of the brain, and in his bone marrow. We are fighting for a cure, we are fighting for a chance for our son to live a normal life. No 3 year old or any child should have to go through this. #aidanstrong #teamaidan Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
