My Story

Garrett was 14 years old when he was sent to Nationwide Children's Hospital on April 24, 15 for a mass behind his right eye. It was discovered on April 28, 15 he had acute myeloid leukemia with malignant myeloid sarcomas. He underwent 4 rounds of chemo, 12 radiation treatments at the James Cancer Center and received a bone marrow transplant on August 28, 16. Unfortunately he relapsed December 17, 16 and started his 2nd battle December 28, 16. After 2 more rounds of chemo and 12 more radiation treatments Garrett passed away at 15 years old just 8 days before his 2nd bone marrow transplant. His mom Shawna and brothers Leighvi, Rylee and Bennett miss him every day!
