My Story

When I was 13, I was diagnosed with a very rare form of bone cancer called Ewing sarcoma. I received eleven months of treatment using five different chemotherapy drugs. My last treatment was October 30, 2014. Unfortunately, because there is such a lack of funding for childhood cancer, each chemo I received was not made for a child but made for an adult. Also, each chemo I received was between 20-40 years old! We need more money for childhood cancer treatments and this is why I am a St. Baldrick's honoree. I even shaved my head at a March 2017 event to help raise funds! Thanks for your support of me, St. Baldrick's and all kids facing this awful cancer journey. You will never know how much your support means to me and those fighting! - Maddie :)
