My Story

Our son CJ was diagnosed with ALL - Leukemia almost 1 year ago. CJ is 6 years old and goes to full day Kindergarten. He loves school and is working hard every day to learn to read and write! Having Down syndrome doesn't slow him down and he's fighting his cancer with the same winning attitude! His strength this past year has been amazing. He truly inspires all who know him to be strong and stay positive. This is our second year being honored by the St. Baldrick's and our local Fire Dept. Last year CJ was just starting to lose his hair when we participated in the event. The timing was perfect! CJ was able to shave his head with his Dad, brother, uncles, cousins and friends and feel great about it! CJ has one more year of treatment but his hair is starting to grow in. Just in time to shave it again! We can't thank the young man and our local Fire Dept. who run this event enough. St. Balrick's Day is an amazing community event and we are looking forward to seeing all those shiny bald heads again on April 6th and raising money to help find a cure. Sincerely, The Buckley's
