This is about the cutest, funniest and most adorable 7 year old. Her name is Lily. She is loud and crazy and just has the best time whenever she does anything. Her favorite colors are pink and purple. She she loves all those monster high dolls. She is just a great kid does really well in school and plays well with others. She has an older brother Michael who is 10 and a younger sister Scarlett who is 8 months old. Michael and Lily get along so well and he is just so sweet to Lily no matter what. Scarlett just loves to be with lily all the time and has the biggest smile on her face every time she sees her.
Our world was turned upside down when we found out that Lily has Ewing's sarcoma. Ewing's is a rare bone cancer. This all started in the middle of September a few weeks after school started. Lily was complaining of leg pain and so I gave her Tylenol to help and thought it was sore muscles or growing pains. Beginning of October she started to wake up in the middle of the night crying because she hurt. So I got an appointment with the pediatrician she then sent us to a pediatric orthopedic doctor. It too a few weeks before they could see us but we got in on October 26. From there everything just went really fast. We had blood work done, then a bone scan, then a MRI. Through all this my heart is just hoping for growing pains my mind is sensing something bigger. By the end of the week the doctor tells us we need to see an orthopedic oncologist. We see the orthopedic oncologist the following Monday November 2 who wants us to check into the hospital the next morning for a biopsy which comes back positive for Ewing's. We go in for a PET scan and find out that the cancer is localized. As fast as that was that same week we get the port in and get ready for the next week to start chemo. Lily is responding very well to the chemo. We are still learning and prayers are always welcome. God is good all the time!!!!
