My Story

Our sweet Hannah was diagnosed with a rare type of AML (Leukemia) when she was just 9 years old. As a matter of fact, her markers had only ever been found in adults, never a child. Because a treatment protocol had not been something available for her condition, the medical community decided on treating her with an "intermediate" risk designation. After going into remission after her first treatment, Hannah relapsed during her 5 and final “in-patient” treatment. This was literally days before she was scheduled to come home.
Being neutropenic at that point, she had very few options for additional chemotherapy.  Unfortunately, a delicate combination of Radiation and Chemo would be our only hope.
Despite her incredible optimism and strength, Hannah Marie succumbed on December 10, 2007.  A very short 8 months after her diagnosis.  Our family will forever be in mourning, but continue to honor her very brave, short life.
We know, first hand, what no child or parent should have to endure. So in her Memory and Honor, we thank you for your donation to St Baldrick's. We are hopeful that a cure to this hideous disease will someday be realized. Thank you, The Turowski's
