My Story

Maliyah Jones was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in May of 2012. She underwent chemotherapy, radiation, multiple surgeries, a transplant, over 50 blood/platelet transfusions, biopsies, antibody treatments, blood tests, scans, hair loss, nausea, pain, discomfort, and humanized 3F8 antibody therapy. It was been a rocky road financially, mentally and physically for our whole family. Nonetheless, on the bright side, Maliyah always enjoyed school, doing activities, playing with her little sister, her family, friends, teachers, supporters, watching her favorite movies, and being a kid. As her mom, I valued the quality of her life and I took pride in being her biggest healer during the process because there is no better medicine than a mom. I remained by her side all the time and will always be. Her story has touched the lives of many people not just in the states, but also in other countries. I'm proud and thankful to be her mother and for that I am blessed to call her my daughter. Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
