My Story

My name is Chance. I was diagnosed with JMML leukemia when I was 9 months old, and ALL leukemia when I was 14 months old. My 9-year old big sister donated her bone marrow to save my life in Feburary 2016 . She is my hero, but I still get mad at her sometimes. Also sometimes I don't like to share my fruit snacks with her. She loves me anyways. Unfortunately my cancer came back in December 2016. In 2017 I was accepted into a trial CAR T-Cell therapy study. Though I was only two-years-old at the time it saved my life AGAIN. I am three now, and still cancer free. I am very lucky. I have met many other kids with cancer that are gone now. I miss them, but I am also glad to be here. I like to play with my toy cars. I also like to watch Blippie on YouTube, and Super Wings on Netflix. I didn't get to have many friends when I was sick, but now I get to go to preschool. I love having friends to play with. Thank you for supporting me, my fight, and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
