Lilly Valentine fought a brave battle for ten months. During this time she underwent surgeries, chemo, radiation, stem cell transplant, and many, many days of being sick. However, this did not stop her from being the spunky, free spirited little girl she always was. Just days before she passed she was dancing and playing...and we believed we were on our way to another course of treatment. From the time they realized she wasn't going to make it till the day she passed...was four days. We only had four days to say goodbye. No parent should ever have to say goodbye.
Recently there have been big advancements made in the area of neuroblastoma treatment, and this is in great part to all of you who push for more research, more time, and more resources to be spent on these children. Unfortunately, Lilly can no longer take advantage of these wonderful new options in treatment and recovery, but there are many other children out there just like Lilly who deserve a shot...they deserve a chance to grow up! Thank you for supporting those who have been diagnosed and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Lilly would be so proud of all of you!!
