My Story

Kathy was diagnosed right before Thanksgiving 2006 with a very rare and serious form of cancer, Hemangiopericytoma, a soft tissue cancerous spinal tumor. She has undergone major surgery and radiation therapy, currently on chemotherapy treatment. Due to secondary effects to this diagnosis and intense treatment regimen, Kathy lost some mobility on both her upper and lower extremities and is in need of occupational and physical therapy daily. Kathy has been very courageous and resilient throughout this ordeal. She has the loving support from her dedicated mother and extended family and friends. She likes doing arts and crafts, playing computer games, and like any other pre-teen enjoys listening to music and talking on her phone! She is happy to be honored at the North Plainfield Fire Dept.'s St. Baldrick's fundraiser and looks forward to help raising money for childhood cancer research.
