My Story

Born on Halloween, Keegan (3), is an extremely happy and sweet little boy! His joyful disposition has been evident since birth with an infectious laugh and huge smiles often. He LOVES Thomas the Train, Mickey Mouse and his sister dearly. He has been battling ALL with Chemo for 18 months now. Diagnosis:  Monday August 4, 2014 Keegan was taken to the pediatrician for a sick visit. He hadn't been feeling well; crying at night, swollen tummy, decreased appetite, some bruising, and overall tired and fussy. The Doctor did a blood draw. After finding "blasts" in his blood, Keegan immediately taken to the hospital. Within the next couple of hours Keegan got his first IV and blood and platelet transfusion along with many other firsts. Within a couple of days he had surgery to place a port and Chemo began. He has suffered from weakness, muscle pain, nausea, weight gain and countless pokes and prods. Current:  Eighteen months later, Keegan is doing FANTASTIC!  He is so such a happy and sweet boy who enjoys the little things in life, relaxing with his dog or a trip to the zoo.  He has been following his plan perfectly and continues to fight through the difficulties of treatment.   Despite the traumatic experiences, he is loving life!   Countdown to end of treatment.....595 days!             Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
