My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Gage is an active teenage boy. He loves sports and hunting. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, T-cell, in May 2014. He was admitted to the hospital for approximately 2 weeks where he started his treatment. Gage was not able to finish out his baseball season and was not able to participate in his first Junior High football season. He has, however, been able to continue his hunting and loves to go out any chance he can. He just completed 8 doses of radiation to his brain. He is also about 1 month away from the maintenance phase of his treatment. He will have treatment for approximately 3 years. Gage has done very well with his treatments with a few side effects that include; loosing his hair, mouth sores from methotrexate, and high blood sugars from dexamethasone. A couple of aspects that he doesn't particularly like are the spinal taps and leg shots, but he does great each time he has to have those treatments. Gage has an unbelievable positive attitude about all of this. He is determined to beat this cancer and has the will and drive to do just that. He is well on his way to beating this disease.
