My Story

Keera, whom we affectionately call girlie, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumor, called supratentorial PNET, which had metasized throughout her brain and spinal cord when she was 2. Girlie underwent a clinical trial which involved 3 rounds of induction chemo, followed by 3 rounds of high dose chemo with stem cell rescue. After these treatments were finished, scans showed vast improvement in the tumors. Our oncologist didn't want to take any chances and suggested radiation, even though girlie is quite young for such an invasive procedure. However, we chose to go ahead. Girlie underwent 30 rounds of radiation treatment. We are currently awaiting our first post treatment MRI scan with fingers crossed
