My Story

Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. I was at work on December 22, 2012, when I passed out. My parents took me to the emergency room, where we were informed that the was a mass in my brain. On December 23, I had surgery to place a drain in my head. On Christmas Day, 2012, I was transferred to the University of Illinois hospital in Chicago. On December 27, I underwent surgery to try to remove the mass from my brain. They were able to remove about 90 percent of the mass. The pathology came back as a glioblastoma multiforme. After I was released from UIC, I went to Lurie's Children's Hospital in Chicago. I underwent 33 radiation treatments and then began chemo. As of March 11, 2014, I am about to begin my final round of chemo.
