My Story

In the summer of 2013, Sophia was your typical happy, carefree 7-year-old. She loved swimming, playing tennis and golf and her dog Scooby. Sophia's whole world changed in June 27 when she was diagnosed with ALL-ETP (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia/Early T-cell Precursor) a rare cancer of the white blood cells. All that Sophia loved had to be put on hold while she concentrated on "killing the leukemia". For these past 8 months, Sophia has undergone countless surgeries and chemotherapy sessions. Everyone who knows her agrees that it is her insane sense of humor and positive attitude that is overpowering the leukemia. Not even cancer can damage Sophia's spirit who, now 9-years-old, dreams of one day being a nurse who works with children. Sophia's future is bright but the road ahead is long. We continue to F.I.G.H.T (Faith In God's Healing Touch) each and every day and we thank God for Sophia's strong determination to win this battle.
