My Story

Diagnosed at the age of 3 (one month shy of 4) James went into The Children's Hospital in Denver CO to undergo over 3 years of chemotherapy to treat his Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. A little boy, the oldest of 3 children at that time spending his 4th birthday in the hospital, New Years, and countless nights, weeks, etc... undergoing this grueling treatment and finally we made it officially to remission in October 2007. Life was normal again; a young playful boy - now with hair - running around, training for a blackbelt in To-Shin-Do, having sleepovers, enjoying childhood and then it was back... We were starting all over again in August of 2009. Ten months of treatments we struggled through and his body was tired and worn out. It's an awful disease this cancer - in all of its forms, bullying our children taking over their lives. In the end, we have the most beloved and precious family guardian angel. Along the way through St. Baldricks, we have grown with other families who have gone through and are going through the same thing. But in honor of our Angels - here on earth and up in heaven, we continue to raise money for a cure. Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Patti
