My Story

Zachary was an amazing little boy that inspired and touched many people with the way he smiled and laughed everyday while taking on cancer. Diagnosed at 14 months old in January 2013, Zachary fought long and hard everyday, always with a smile too, until he lost his battle in July 2013. His time here may not have been that long but in the time he had, he touched and inspired so many others by the way he took on life with everything that was wrong. Most of his time spent fighting was inpatient at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL. We virtually lived there for 6 months while he fought. He lived each day to the fullest from playing with his brother and sister when they could come visit him to taking countless walks in a wagon around the oncology floor with his mom and dad. Even on his bad days he would always be able to find a the strength to smile, laugh, and even play... Cancer could not keep him down and that is why he is and always will be our hero.
