My Story

Jenna Jackson, currently 11 years old, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma (cancer of the brain) on July 1, 2009 when she was 8 years old. She had brain surgery within 48 hours of being diagnosed and spent about 1 month in the hospital recovering from that surgery. After a month of recovery it was found that Jenna also had a tumor on her spine which was inoperable. It was then decided that she would have to undergo six weeks of radiation and six weeks of aggressive chemotherapy. All of Jenna's chemo treatments were in-patient causing her to have to spend a week at a time in the hospital during her treatments. Her last treatment was March 2010 and Jenna is currently cancer free and loving life! She does continue to suffer from the after effects of treatment, but tries not to let it get her down. Jenna is no stranger to medical issues and has been in and out of the hospital since she was a baby enduring 28 different surgeries in her young life. She also has a condition called Sticklers which effects the eyes and recently had surgery to correct her left eye. She will be having surgery on her right eye very soon. Jenna is a fun loving, free spirited girl who keeps us on our toes daily! She loves art, horses, going to school and spending time with her friends. Thank you for supporting Jenna and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
