My Story

Marissa's brother has been a shavee with St Baldrick's for 9 years now; beginning when she was first diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2003. He was Knighted after 7 years, in 2011. 2012 was exceptionally difficult for the family. Marissa spent 101 days in the hospital and underwent 22 different brain surgeries. Because of ongoing medical research and sheer determination she has made a magnificent recovery and returned to school this past month.

Who's Honoring Me

Children who are fighting or have fought cancer inspire others to be part of the Foundation's mission — to support the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.
