My Story

I want to begin by saying how much I love my son and how proud I am to be the mother of the bravest soul Ive ever met. Darren was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma when he was 8, his response was "mom, Ive waited my whole life to be bald!!!!" Darren went through his entire life full of happiness, had the most infectious smile that would melt any heart, and spoke of his friendship with two angels and his best friend God often even with all of the chemo, hospital trips and then being confined to a wheelchair. I had a bond with my son that I hope every mom can at least have a portion of with their children, our bond stayed true to the end even when I had to give him the ok to go to heaven to be with God if he was done fighting and held him telling him how amazing he is and will always be while he passed away in my arms. I continued to whisper my love to him while carrying his casket out of the church happy he was pain free
