My Story

Sam is an energetic, fun-loving kid. He enjoys playing games, doing puzzles, camping, fishing, and picking on his little sister, Maddie. Sam was diagnosed with Pre-B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 22nd, 2010, at the age of six. His treatment consisted of multi-agent chemotherapy that lasted for more than three years and two months altogether. Sam is considered to have a low risk for relapse. The treatment Sam underwent was based on extensive research over many decades. We certainly hope that this marathon of treatment successfully eradicated Sam's cancer. We also hope that new protocols will be developed that are shorter in length, less toxic, and that will increase survival rates for leukemia and all other childhood cancers.
