My Story

Delaney is a 6 year old little girl who was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia at age 3. She has had a very difficult road throughout treatment, experiencing many rare side effects, and even experiencing a relapse at age 5. She just recently entered the Maintenance phase of her relapse treatment, so if all goes well, things should be calming down a bit. Despite everything Delaney has been through, she has such a strong desire to be a normal little girl and experience all the joys of childhood. She has missed out on so much, so we have a lot of ground to make up. Delaney loves to dance and play with her dolls and Barbies. Her favorite TV shows are iCarly, Victorious, and Good Luck Charlie. She loves first grade and has recently been able to go to school on a more consistent basis. She enjoys putting make-up on and wearing jewelry. She has no hair, so she wears a hair piece provided by the Childhood Leukemia Foundation. She is beautiful, with and without hair. Her hair piece makes her feel more beautiful. We have extremely high hopes that Delaney remains cancer-free forever. She is a precious child, and the world is a better place because she is in it.
